The Lion King

As the Wharton Center for Performing Arts welcomes the Broadway hit The Lion King to town, East Lansing also welcomes two familiar faces. Two of the cast members in the tour are actually MSU Alum. Omari Tau who has been with the tour for six years graduated in 1996 and Andrea Jones who plays the female hyena Shinzi graduated in 1999.

Tax Day Protest

On Tax Day 2009 an estimated 4,000 protesters gathered at the state capitol to voice their complaints. After government bailouts, corporate firings, and financial meltdown here in Michigan thousands joined the tea party themed protest. Guest speaker Joe the Plumber was also on hand to sign his new book and address the crowd.

2009 NCAA Final Four Fans

Shelley is in her last year at Michigan State University and is excited to enter the work force as a broadcast journalist. Throughout her four years at MSU she has garnered many professional level internships from radio to television.

As a host for an on campus show, MSU & U, for four years she was a part of the award winning cast to win Best Student Production in 2006 from the Michigan Chapter of the National Television Association. She also had the opportunity to interview actor Will Ferrell in 2008.

Internships include radio and television experience. Local Lansing news station WLNS, Livingston radio station 93.5 FM, and Meridian Township’s government access station HOM-TV.

Shelley is currently working with the Big Ten Network show MSU Today, occasionally voicing promo’s for MSU Today on the Impact 88.9 FM and keeping up with campus news for Focal Point.
