Pavel is in his senior year at Michigan State, working as a broadcast journalist on and off campus. He is the co-host of the “Spartan Sportswrap” on the IMPACT 89FM, MSU’s student radio station. He also produces Focal Point television and loves interacting with everyone who is a part of the production and crew. Pavel works at WILS 1320AM Lansing as a producer and on-air with the “Jack and Tom” sports show live every Saturday morning from 8-11am live.

Pavel has been a part of the Michigan State sports media since he was a freshman, working for Scout.com covering football, men’s basketball and ice hockey.  Throughout the last four years, Pavel has seen the good and the bad in MSU sports. He was there in 2007 for the firing of football coach John L. Smith. He witnessed Michigan State hockey win the 2007 National Championship at the Frozen Four in St. Louis. He watched as Drew Neitzel’s three pointer bounced on the rim forever before finally going in, en route to an MSU upset of #1-ranked Wisconsin. And he was there when Tom Izzo and the men’s basketball team raised a Big Ten championship.

After MSU, Pavel hopes to be a TV producer and possibly have a sports radio show on the side. And if that doesn’t work, there’s always American Idol, where he can sing his heart out and represent.

I am so glad that Focal Point has expanded through the web and now all of our packages have been archived online for people to see. Hopefully through the help of mastermind Bob Gould, Focal Point will continue to grow and go bigger.
