Helen Battersby is a Senior at Michigan State University and is excited to be working with Focal Point as a reporter this fall. Helen worked as a reporting intern at HOM-TV in Meridian Township last year where she learned a lot about the broadcast industry both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Over the summer Helen was a newsroom intern at ABC 3 WLAJ in Lansing where she shadowed the reporter and helped prepare nightly newscasts.

Although Helen has always wanted to be a part of the sports journalism world, she is also interested in hard news after working at her broadcasting internships for the last year. Helen has a specialization in political science and hopes to work in the public relations or broadcasting field when she graduates. She grew up in Farmington Hills and enjoys playing golf, hanging with her family and friends and cheering for the green and white.
